The Golden Compass
This movie has Nicole Kidmen in it. And as a child in middle school I read this book. The actually big words and all that book, so when I found out this was coming out in theaters I had to watch it. Though I was disappointed in so of the stuff they didn’t do but books are never like the movies. It was a very good movie, I think all the actors in this movie did a great job.
If you haven’t seen this movie it’s about a girl who is left at a college for the scholars to raise in the college. Though she is very wild and doesn’t really do what she is told. Also in this world everyone has what they call demons which are their soul and everyone’s is the opposite sex of what the human is. All these animals can talk, they like to which shape until the child hits that ages. Anyways this girl has an uncle that goes on trips to see ice bears and to prove there is a thing called dust, which is what connects them to their demon. Well then something is happening in this world a group called the golbers are taking children, but no one knows for sure why they are doing it. The girl meets a woman who comes to the college to visit and wants to take the girl away, and she does. The girl has all kind of adventures and meets all kinds of people, plus she knows why they golbers are taking the children.
You will have to watch to movie to find out why the children are being taken. I really liked this movie, though it was nothing like the book, but still really good. I’m hoping they will do the other books, because they are just as good as the first. But I’ll have to look that up to see if they are making the second book. I think everyone should see this movie; even the kids will like it.
